MOU #2 RATIFIED

Big Gains for UMCP Staff

AFSCME Local 1072 volunteer negotiators have reached a tentative agreement with UMCP administration

lower parking cap • acting capacity increases • expanded bereavement leave

EXEMPT AND NON-EXEMPT IMPROVEMENTS

  • Pay: UMCP agrees to COLA and Merit increases coming out of coalition negotiations. Instead of negotiating alone we have more bargaining power.
  • Parking: Cap lowered. The maximum increase allowed down from 10% to 7.5%.
  • Acting Capacity Pay and Promotions: 12%, up from 6%, whenever working two grades above or greater.
  • Bereavement Leave: Expanded to include step-children, great grandparents and any relative staying in your home at the time of death.
  • Professional Development Day: Moved to a calendar year for easier scheduling.

NON-EXEMPT IMPROVEMENTS

  • PRD: The PRD signature page will have the Overall Rating on it. The old way was to have the signatures and the Ratings on different pages.
  • Beginning in 2008 – 2009 the PRD Overall rating will be Meets Expectations or Does Not Meet Expectations.
Spanish speakers: The ESOL classes are reinstated.  (p.30)  Basic PRD forms will be translated into Spanish. )
  • Medical Documentation – Facilities Management: Resolved in our favor

EXEMPT IMPROVEMENTS

  • New hires will be given job description and schedule information.
  • Exempt Pay Bands are now published.
  • Exempt salary scales will be published on the web.
