Every year, the Office of Institutional Research, Planning, and Assessment (IRPA) publishes stats on the demographics of employees at the University of Maryland. Here are the latest counts based on Fall 2016 data. (You can find previous counts here : https://www.irpa.umd.edu/CampusCounts/index.html )
University employees are made up of faculty, staff, and graduate assistants. In this section you will find information on race/ethnicity, gender, and full-time/part-time status. Additional information specific to each group (faculty, staff, and graduate assistants) is also provided.
There are 2 reports available. The standard summary and the SOC summary. The SOC summary report looks at university employees by Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) code. In the fall of 2012, the University transitioned to tracking all employees by SOC code. This is now standard practice among employers and has replaced, or is currently replacing, other methods of tracking employees.
